The Gayatri Mantra
The Gayatri Mantra is one of the most ancient and powerful Vedic mantras, originating from the Rigveda (Mandala 3.62.10), attributed to sage Vishvamitra. It is dedicated to Savitr (the divine light or sun deity symbolizing illumination) and personified as Goddess Gayatri, the mother of the Vedas.

तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्

Meaning (Word-for-Word and Full Translation)

Om: The primordial sound, representing the universe.
Bhūr: The physical world/earth.
Bhuvaḥ: The mental/atmospheric realm.
Svaḥ: The spiritual/heavenly realm.
Tat: That (referring to the Divine).

Vareṇyaṃ: Worthy of worship or the most excellent.
