In the end of the rematch, 4 songs are tied as #1. A playoff is held to determine the ultimate winner.
The winner of this contest will be featured in the Japan Sound Metro, representing Tokyo as one of the 47 Japanese prefectures. The winner of the Japan Sound Metro will be representing Japan in the Globision Song Contest.
Formats of the Japan Sound Metro contest:
Semi Final 1: 23 songs from 23 Japanese prefectures
Semi Final 2: 23 songs from 23 Japanese prefectures
Final: 21 songs (Wakayama is automatically qualified, as they won the last Japan Sound Metro)
