A diet rich in antioxidants may protect brain cells. I'm Erin White and this is a dailyRx Minute. Antioxidants can be found in foods like soy products, coffee and fruits. They protect the body by neutralizing free radicals; molecules which damage cells. While older people who had higher amounts of antioxidants in their diet were not less likely to develop dementia or have a stroke, MRIs did show they had fewer signs of age-related brain damage.
