The last day of both the Hearts generics package and on-screen regional identities on ITV1. Manx Television still remained firmly independent, but went along with an authentic start-up sequence into the ITV Morning News, like that of LWT's.
Just like London Weekend's, the graphic artists were hard at work recreating the "TX in service" slide (with the long-defunct VHF transmitters switched out for digital) and the 1980-84 Manx Television ident (the company's personal favourite) in full 16:9 widescreen.
