It’s time for an almighty supercar showdown!

We’ve got Mat in the Ferrari 296 GTB, and he’s going up against Mark in his McLaren P1! The question is, which of these hybrid heroes can snatch the chequered flag? Let’s take a closer look at the stats.

Starting with the Ferrari, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 as well as an electric motor. These combine to produce 830hp and 740Nm, with this power being sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch. It weighs 1,570kg and costs £241,550.

Then we come to the McLaren. It’s packing a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 as well as an electric motor. The two of these combine for 916hp and 900Nm, with power sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch. It’s the lighter of the two cars, at 1,490kg, and this was purchased recently for £1,200,000!

So the McLaren may have more power, but it’s also the older of the two cars! Could the newer Ferrari snatch the win? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!
