The story of a little robot and the adventure it goes on to capture its muse: the butterfly. This student-made stop-motion animation was filmed in a collaborative effort between two Iowa City elementary school art rooms.
More than 600 K-6th graders posed 10,000 frames and recorded nearly 200 individual sound effects over the course of five months. Every frame of the movie was produced "in-camera" -- no effects added later. Students created the sets, characters, and plot. Mr. Jones, their art teacher, provided direction, editing, and the musical score.
