He Cried is a song by Morrissey originally released on the album Maladjusted in August of 1997. The song was written and composed by Morrissey and Alain Whyte and was produced by Steve Lillywhite.
Morrissey is the co-founder, former front-man, lyricist and joint composer for the seminal English band "The Smiths". Since the groups break-up in 1987 Morrissey has remained an internationally renowned and successful solo artist.
This video is made from clips taken from This Sporting Life which is a 1963 British kitchen sink drama film directed by Lindsay Anderson. Based on the 1960 novel of the same name by David Storey, which won the 1960 Macmillan Fiction Award.
The film stars Richard Harris, Rachel Roberts, William Hartnell, and Alan Badel. It was Harris's first starring role, and won him the Best Actor Award at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival. He was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
