Filming this one was no easy task. First of all because audio and video recording was (of course) strictly not allowed, so in order to immortalize for posterity this historical moment in rock-blues – Peter Green’s come back tour and his first time in Italy – I had to keep standing and hiding all the time, handholding my small videocamera among the crowd in the front rows, with all the easily imaginable problems that ensue (i.e. some shaking, obstructions and nearby chatting, though mostly in the first part of the show). The resulting footage, anyway, with all its ups and downs, in the end I consider as quite watchable & listenable (not only for hard-core Peter Green’s fans), so I think it was well worth the effort.
Also, as it’s often the case with some of my videos, this is a pretty rare one. Rarity comes mostly from the fact that, AFAIK, this is the only complete concert from the 1996/1997 Peter Green’s comeback tour (w/ the short-lived line-up that included Cozy Powell on drums, before he passed away in April 1998) that was filmed in Italy. Some pro-shot videos from this era, that can be found on YT, were shot elsewhere in Europe (in Germany and Poland, for example) but – to my current knowledge – none during the italian dates. So, enjoy this never-seen-before document of my favourite british blues guitar player. Thanks for watching and commenting.
