Work progresses fast on the Underground Tunnel | Mumbai-Amdavad Bullet Train Project

Описание: A major milestone has been achieved in the construction of India’s first undersea rail tunnel for the Mumbai–Amdavad Bullet Train Project.

The 21-kilometre tunnel between Mumbai Bullet Train Station and Thane includes a 16-kilometre section being excavated using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), including a 7-kilometre undersea stretch beneath Thane Creek.

Following the launch of the first TBM on 5 July 2026 from Vikhroli towards Mumbai, the second TBM has now commenced excavation from the 39-metre-deep Sawli shaft towards Vikhroli, marking another significant step forward in this landmark infrastructure project.

The Mumbai–Amdavad Bullet Train Project is bringing world-class high-speed rail technology to India while showcasing advanced engineering and construction capabilities.
