Описание: NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Major Minor 534) This quintet was a male British vocal group who originally began their career credited as the Five Dallas Boys. The group became quite well known and popular by recording harmonic pop tunes and inserting dance routines and comedic shtick in their live and television performances. After releasing nearly a dozen singles on the Columbia label in the UK between 1957 and 1961, there was a six-year gap before their next disc appeared over the airwaves in 1967. Credited as the abbreviated, the Dallas Boys, only two singles by the group were issued on the Major Minor label in the UK and both of those discs are wonderful examples of England's slant with 'Blue-Eyed Soul' and the 'Wall of Sound'. The recordings display really well-done orchestration, crisp and clean audio quality, and exemplary vocals. Produced by Ray Horricks with an arrangement by Len Beadle, 'He Don't Love You (Like I Do)' b/w 'What Do You Know About Losin' was the first disc on the Major Minor label and both tunes were composed by three of the group members. The A-side is presented here in its explosive and heavily orchestrated grandeur. At some point in time while with the label, the Carole King and Gerry Goffin tune, 'Hey, Girl' was recorded by the group and the finished track was quite impressive but for an unknown reason, was withheld from release. All that survives of that tune at present is a 10-inch Associated Recording Studios acetate cut in New York City in 1967 with the assumption that it was intended for a possible but ultimately unfulfilled release in the United States.
