This is a very lengthy, in depth, step by step video covering how to make the sliding lid portion of a mitered box. This video is for those who have never made one, or are having problems after trying to follow other directions.
For the sake of saving some time, this video assumes you know how to make the basic frame to the box, and picks up right when you begin the groove cutting for the lid, continues through making the lid, the front lip, and the glue up process. If needed, I can make a similar, albeit it shorter video, for making the frame of the box. Let me know if that would help.
