Following the approval, JUIDCO (Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company) has started preparing two crucial documents: the DPR (Detailed Project Report) and the AAR (Alternative Analysis Report). These reports will define the technical design, route alignment, station locations, construction method, investment model, and long-term sustainability of the Ranchi Metro project. Once these reports are finalized and submitted, groundwork and on-site construction activities are expected to begin.

According to the current plan, the Ranchi Metro network will cover a total length of 51.3 kilometers, making it one of the most ambitious urban transport projects in Jharkhand. The network will consist of three major corridors that connect key residential, commercial, and industrial areas of the city. The first route will run from Kachhari Gol Chakkar to Nayasarai, covering 16.1 kilometers. The second corridor will connect Pahartoli to Namkum with a length of 13.7 kilometers. The third and longest route will stretch from Kanke to Tupudana, spanning 21.5 kilometers and linking major educational, healthcare, and industrial zones.

The government estimates that once operational, Ranchi Metro will serve nearly 70,000 passengers daily. This will significantly reduce traffic congestion, cut travel time, lower pollution levels, and improve overall mobility within the city. For a city like Ranchi, which has been struggling with increasing traffic jams and unplanned urban expansion, the metro project could be a game-changer.

Beyond transportation, the Ranchi Metro project is expected to boost real estate development, create employment opportunities, attract private investment, and strengthen Ranchi’s position as a modern urban center. Improved public transport infrastructure often leads to better economic activity, smoother daily commutes, and a higher quality of life for citizens.
