Welcome back to African Mechanics.
In this video we rebuild a Nissan RF6 engine that came into our garage in terrible condition. The engine was smoking heavily, overheating, leaking oil and had completely lost its power.
After removing and disassembling the engine we discovered several serious problems including a worn out clutch, damaged pistons and a badly damaged engine block. This meant the engine required a complete rebuild.
We replaced the block and installed new pistons, piston rings, conrod bearings, thrust washers, gaskets, clutch plate and fresh engine oil together with other necessary components to restore the engine back to working condition.
The Nissan Vanette with the RF engine is a very important vehicle here in Kenya. Many farmers depend on these vans every day for transporting milk to the dairy, fetching water and taking farm produce to the market. That is why we worked hard to rebuild this engine quickly so it could return to the farm and continue serving its purpose.
