Hanoi walking street (Phố đi bộ Hà Nội in Vietnamese), more specifically Ho Guom Walking Street is an area of walking space including 16 streets around Hoan Kiem Lake, prohibiting vehicles.
The time of banning means of transport is from 19h Friday to 24h Sunday every week. In addition to the above time, the streets are used as usual.
During the operation of the pedestrian street, the city allows 3 or more star hotels, bars, restaurants in Hoan Kiem Lake area to be open until 2am the next morning. The walking street has vending machines and free wifi station.
Walking Street is not only a place where people are free to stroll, play, exchange and chat, but also a place for folk games, spontaneous cultural and artistic activities. As of 2020, in four years of operation, the walking space in Hoan Kiem Lake area and surrounding areas has held hundreds of events, cultural and artistic exchange activities attracting the participation of numerous cities and countries domestically and internationally.
