Welcome to Lecture 53 of the course "Digital Signal Processing" by Prof.David Koilpllai
Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/es/course_pa...
Video Overview
This lecture focuses on the Discrete-Time Fourier Transform (DTFT) of the unit step function u[n], a classic and conceptually rich problem in signal processing. We explain why direct computation using limits is not valid and introduce a correct approach using even and odd decomposition. The lecture also addresses how to work with non-absolutely summable signals and manage discontinuities to derive an accurate DTFT expression, including important delta function terms. This session deepens your understanding of DTFT theory and prepares you for more advanced signal analysis.
About IIT Madras' online Bachelor of Science programme
IIT Madras offers four-year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all, irrespective of age, educational background, or location. The BS programme has multiple levels, which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels. Depending on the courses completed and credits earned, the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education), Diploma(s) from IIT Madras, or BSc/BS Degrees from IIT Madras.
