Kara Zor-El has been on Earth for well over 20 years. She’s a drifter. She tries not to stay in the same place for a long time, hoping that her superpowers will remain a secret and makes a living singing in clubs and bars.
Cat Grant is a junior editor for The New York Times. She refuses to move back to the West Coast, much to the chagrin of her successful mother and generally works too hard.
After meeting Kara, Cat tries to cut all ties with the enigmatic singer before it's too late.
