Woodturning - I made a Speaker from a log and it worked?!

Описание: This week I turned a speaker! I've had this idea in my head for quite a while but I kept putting it off until I got my new mitre saw. The new saw made cutting the slot for the phone so much more clean and precise, however it did take me about 2 hours to work out a way of holding the speaker so it wouldn't come loose and get chewed up by the saw, but it was all totally worth it when I tested the speaker for the first time to find it really does amplify the sound. I was really surprised with how well it worked and I will definitely be making another soon.
The Zebrano feet have proven a bit controversial in my household, with most not liking them. I think I'll have to try something different next time.

The speaker is 140mm length by 85mm round at its widest point.

Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practise. The gloves I wear are tight fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe.
