【MKW WR】 Bowser's Castle (Glitch) -

I GOT IT BACK!!!! I knew I could get this back but I didn't expect it to take this long. It feels good to finally get something lower than .8 and skipping .7 is a nice touch to it as well LOL

Another thing I feel obliged to say about this run is that it feels incredible to beat Fox of all people. He's someone I've had massive respect towards for a long time and getting a WR stolen by him and then taking it BACK from him feels pretty awesome!

Onto the run, the most important thing is the mii name which I used in this run. I want to dedicate this run to Jared who has had the WR a few times on this track and was close to reclaiming it after I got the initial 2:08 time. He's always supported me on this grind and given me advice to get better at the glitch and the driving around the track. I think he's the best player in the glitch category and he could really destroy this category if he were to come back.

Lap 1 was easily the best lap in this run being a low .7 with only 3 geyser tricks. With the quad geysers, this could have easily been a .65x or lower. The driving could have been a little better but I can't really complain.

Lap 2 started off with a dead low trick which is MUCH better than not getting a hop at all on the ramp. The driving started to deteriorate during this lap but I was able to hold it together until the end of the lap where I got the first two geyser tricks followed by a dead third trick which lost me a decent amount of time. I was surprised to see that this was still a 42.9.

Onto lap 3. I was surprised that this was the worst split of the run but after watching this run back, it's very easy to see why this was the case. The driving was also improvable this lap, especially after the triple trick at the start. I've gotten on paces much better than this with no nerves but for some reason I found myself nervous as I approached the glitch which I think is obvious in this instance. I just wanted to make a decent enough glitch that could give me WR and that's what I got. When I saw the height though, I had to lean all the way back or else I would have driven into the wall after landing. After that, it was all about whether or not the recovery would be nice to me. To my surprise, it was but I was really shaky about it since I didn't expect anything. All I had to do was get geysers that were better than Fox. In this case, just getting three decent tricks was enough to secure the WR with a cut of over .1.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me on the Bowser's Castle journey and I look forward to pushing this track down once I get free time in the next few weeks. I imagine that a WR battle could happen here between me and Fox if he decides to come back to the track again and keep trying it. Overall, I'm just happy I finally got a run without a really dumb mistake in it.
