In the first installment of this two-part episode, we saw that the Great Ones are linked: They're all designed after things found within the human body. But why? In this concluding episode, we examine the Great Ones through the lens of Bloodborne's overarching medical metaphor and discover that these creatures are parallels for the internal organs, systems and even fetuses that would have been discovered by anatomists and surgeons of the 18th and 19th centuries. Just like they gained medical knowledge from exploring the inner workings of the body by carving up cadavers pulled from the grave, Bloodborne's scholars gain insight in an effort to comprehend the Great Ones---beings found in the Tomb of the Gods.
