At first glance, the list of the languages with the most Wikipedia articles makes sense. English is first, and then there are other languages like German, Swedish, French, Dutch, Russian Spanish and so on. For the most part, these are some of the most commonly spoken languages in the west, except for one. Cebuano, a language with around 18-22 million native speakers, has 6.1 million articles, close to three times more than 3rd place German. So, why is Cebuano the 2nd most common language on Wikipedia?
