Automation of industrial bakery 'MALZERS Backstube' with MOTOMAN robots

To ensure safety and quality, robots that come into direct or indirect contact with food must be specially designed for this purpose. Among other things, specifications such as the GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practice) must be adhered to, for example with regard to materials, cleanability and hygienic design. Yaskawa already offers MOTOMAN robots in a food-safe design as standard, with certified food-grade grease in the gears, increased tightness and special paintwork.

The automation specialist ADM automates three work steps - depalletising, inserting the baking paper and placing the dough pieces on trays.

Four MOTOMAN MPP3Hs load the trays or planks with the rolls, which are fed in from the opposite direction on a second conveyor belt, each making 80 picks per minute.
A MOTOMAN GP180-120 handling robot picks up 400 trays or 1000 planks individually per hour and places them on the belt.
A MOTOMAN MPK2F places the baking paper. With an output of 1,000 sheets per hour, it handles the baking paper in two different formats.
