Early in the morning, when a light mist settles on the plain and the sound of livestock bells rings in the air, Masoumeh wakes up with her usual energy. The children are still sleepy-eyed but full of enthusiasm, ready for a new day. The air in the village is cool and pleasant, and the river shines like a silver ribbon among the greenery of nature.
🎣 Fishing by the river
Masoumeh heads to the river with her wicker basket and fishing net. The quiet sound of the water gives a strange sense of peace. She skillfully casts her net into the water and waits… A moment of silence… And suddenly the net becomes heavy!
The first big fish is caught! A flash of joy shines in her eyes. A little later, several more large fish are caught in the net. An exciting scene that shows that patience and skill always pay off.
The children gather around their mother with laughter and excitement, delighted to see the big fish.
🌧️ A surprise rain on the way back
But just as Masoumeh is heading home, the sky changes. Dark clouds gather quickly and suddenly it starts to rain heavily!
Large drops of rain hit the ground, the wind blows hard and the path becomes muddy. Masoumeh hugs the basket of fish tightly and moves towards the house with faster steps. The sound of thunder echoes in the mountains, but she continues on her way with a smile and hope.
These difficult moments are part of the real life of nomads; where nature is both a friend and a test.
🍲 Mahpari's culinary art
At home, Mahpari quickly gets to work upon seeing Masoumeh arriving wet but happy. The firewood blazes and its warmth drives away the cold of the rain from their bodies.
Fresh fish is seasoned with local spices and mountain herbs. The sound of the fish sizzling on the fire blends with the sound of the rain outside; a beautiful symphony of nature and life.
The aroma of grilled fish fills the entire house. A simple but loving table is spread; fresh bread, hot fish, and hot tea.
