Charted at #1 in Billboard in 1950. Review as a Billboard pick: "Infectious, spirited delivery of a cute-as-a-button novelty item with verve and vinegar. Miss Barton glitters with exuberance in her very auspicious disk debut." Some have mistakenly remembered this hit as being performed by Teresa Brewer because of her similiar peppy style. Eileen had four other charted songs: "May I Take Two Giant Steps?" (#25 in July 1950), "Wishin'" (#30 in March 1951), "Cry" (#10 in December 1951) and "Pretend" (#17 in February 1953).
This song also charted at #5 in 1950 for Georgia Gibbs. Also recorded by Gracie Fields, Art Mooney with Betty Harris, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, June Hamilton and the Maxes.
Written by Bob Merrill, Al Hoffmann and Clem Watts.
The other side of this single is "Poco, Loco in the Coco".
