The Greatest Gathering is a histroic event, organised by train manafacturer company Alstom, who operate Derby Litchurch Lane Works. The Greatest Gathering was launched and announced in January, to celebrate 200 years of railways in the United Kingdom.
At the event, there are hundreds of trains: there are Steam Locomotives, Diesel and Eletric Locomotives, as well as some carriages, wagons, as well as some passenger multiple units.
The event was running from Friday 1st August to Sunday 3rd August 2025, I attended on Saturday 2nd August. Litchurch Lane was buzzing with lots of railway fans!
A lot of my favourite trains were present which made me feel so good to be there: The likes of the Class 390, Class 507, Class 455, Class 57, Class 221 were all there, as well as many others!
I am so pleased to be part of this historic and iconic railway event!
