It's a summer Sunday afternoon in 2007, and BBC One is finishing up a repeat of the cosy US detective series Murder, She Wrote (which originally aired on, and later went back to, ITV. It's on 5Select now.) and about to head into the weekly omnibus edition of EastEnders.
Sir David Attenborough's Saving Planet Earth and Doctor Who are among the programmes trailed, and Duncan Newmarch teases during the MSW credits a new episode of their Sunday night vet drama at 8, called The Chase, a show whose name now has completely different, ITV-based connotations.
