Описание: A joyful song by an icon of Brazilian samba written in 1958. It has been covered by numerous singers including Jackson do Pandeiro and Gilberto Gil. The song criticizes the foreign invasion of Brazilian music, reflecting a concern to keep samba free from international influence: an affirmation of Brazilian music, humorously addressing the competition that samba began to face with foreign rhythms: from bebop – one of the jazz styles in vogue in the 1950s – to rock, which was beginning to spread around the world. Lyrics by Almira Castilho--"I'LL ONLY PUT BEBOP IN MY SAMBA WHEN UNCLE SAM PICKS UP THE TAMBOURINE, WHEN HE PICKS UP THE PANDEIRO AND THE ZABUMBA, WHEN HE UNDERSTANDS THAT SAMBA ISN'T RUMBA. THEN I'LL MIX MIAMI WITH COPACABANA, CHEWING GUM WITH BANANA , AND MY SAMBA WILL BE LIKE THIS. Mary Ann O'Dougherty--vocals and percussion, Tony Hauser--guitar, Hans Friese--percussion
