We rode 400km across New Zealand’s South Island, leaving Christchurch behind and heading south through some of the most incredible scenery this country has to offer. From wide open roads to snow-capped mountains and turquoise lakes, this ride reminded us exactly why motorcycle touring in New Zealand is so special.

Our route took us from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo, where we stopped for a cold swim in one of the most famous lakes in the South Island, before continuing on toward Cromwell. After everything that happened with the bike in the previous episode, getting back on the road across New Zealand felt like the reset we needed.

In this episode of our round-the-world journey, we explore South Island riding, Lake Tekapo’s unreal blue water, and what makes New Zealand one of the best motorcycle touring destinations in the world.
