The difference between a flag and a trading range. What does flag mean in trading? How do you determine a trading range? How do you spot a bull flag? How do you know if a stock is range bound? The difference between a flag and a trading range can be quite subtle but it really does influence the way you actually trade that setup. At the moment a lot of stocks are doing this and sometimes it is good to have a checklist so you recognise what setup you're trading. The theory behind the flag is that you have a drive in one direction but now price is pausing and the likely scenario is that you will get a continuation to the downside. A flag tends to be shorter, also the movement up tends to be shallower. The flag should be considered more of a pause than a continuation. OK.
