This is the adorable moment a little girl is left overcome with emotion on the school playground, after seeing her dad for the first time in four months.

The final bell has rung at Buxton Primary in Norwich on March 1st, and though this may be ‘just another day at school’ for many of the children, for one little girl it’s a moment she’ll never forget.

Amongst the cascade of children flooding from the school gates stands Cherry Mactavish, who remains completely unaware she’s about to see her dad for the first time since November, after he returned early from a trip to Antarctica.

Somewhere in the hustle and bustle of kicking out time, Cherry can be heard gleefully declaring ‘I see daddy’, before beginning her charge towards her much-missed father.
