Welcome to Munich! Today I’m taking a first look at Volkswagen’s latest concept EV – the ID. Cross. 🚗⚡

Yes, VW have finally given us a frunk (25 litres, enough for cables and small gear), plus:

Front-wheel drive MEB+ platform

Around 420 km range (expected)

1,200 kg towing capacity

Fold-flat seats so you can even sleep inside

Big 450L boot for its size

Loads of quirky concept details (from light bars to 70s-style recycled interiors)

This is a pre-production prototype, so not everything you see here will make it to the final car – but it gives us a very good idea of where Volkswagen is headed for their small electric SUV lineup. Expect prices to start from around €25,000 (a bit more in Ireland).
