There is just something about driving on gravel roads and the one we took when we left Merweville was no different. Quiet, but yet so interesting. After this lovely road we arrived in Leeu-Gamka. This is one of the small towns we all drive through when on the N1 between Cape Town and Johannesburg. I have never spent time in this town other than filling vehicles up with petrol. I was mesmerised by the trip down memory lane at the station. I could just stand there imagining all the people arriving at the station buying snacks, tickets, drinks, the chatter and not to mention the excitement of taking a long trip on an old steam engine to Cape Town or Johannesburg. Some people would stay over at the stunning hotel before the train arrives the next day.
