Next month the Prime Minister will fly to Washington for a grand announcement - the unveiling of Australia's plans to build a nuclear-powered submarine fleet with the support of the US and UK. Vice Admiral Jonathan Mead has already delivered his blueprint for the program to the government. Before the controversial decision was made to abandon French conventional submarines, Mead was part of a secretive mission to the US to ask the Americans to share their highly prized technology. Mead talks to 7.30's Sarah Ferguson.
