A Swiss Army Triplet is a rudiment that involves a triplet bass or a triplet rate where you're going tri-pl-et or one-triplet, two-triplet, and it involves flamming on the first note, typically of the first note, of that rudiment. Now, if you remember what a flam is, a flam is your strong hand starting up in the air and your weaker hand starting closer to the drum, and then this one will follow by a tap. So, you're going to do an accent and a flam on the first note, a tap on your strong hand, and a final tap on your alternating hand. Now, this rudiment itself, though it alternates sticking, doesn't necessarily alternate lead sides, so you'll have to go back and practice the other side.

So a single Swiss Army Triplet on the right side will look like this. When you speed it up into rhythm it sounds like this.

Swiss Army Triplets work really well around the drums with fills and grooves. I'm just going to give you an example of a groove mixed with a fill, not changing my sticking, using that Swiss Army. And I will start slow, and then eventually work it up in speed. Sounds like this.

That's one of those examples that a rudiment can be really interesting around the different surfaces of the drums. So, give that one a try and see if you can work it up in tempo.
