This morning, I cut both Mugen Dachi and used Japanese tatami mats with the Charay Khyber Knife by Windlass. These Khyber knives have a T-back spine that adds stiffness to an otherwise thin blade. In this video, I demonstrate0, that the thick T-back spine does not negatively affect the cutting ability of these formidable Afghani short swords.
