Agnipath Scheme (अग्निपथ योजना) is introduced by the government of India for short-Term Recruitment in Armed Forces on 14th June 2022.

Under this scheme, Personnel will be selected for a period of 4 years(including Training)

Soldiers recruited under this scheme will be referred to as AgniVeer(अग्निवीर)
Army, Navy, and Air force will separately conduct recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme to recruit Agniveer
Agniveer would form a distinct rank in the Armed Forces, different from any other existing ranks

Enrolment will be undertaken through an online centralised system for all three services with specialized rallies and campus interviews.

Enrolment will be based on an ‘All India All Class’ basis and the eligible age will be in the range from 17.5 to 21 years(23 years for the year 2022). (No cast based Reservation)

Eligibility:
Age: 17.5 to 21 years (only for the year 2022 recruitments, the upper age limit will be 23 years)
Physical Fitness: Will have to meet all the medical conditions as required by the army navy and air force separately.
Educational Qualification: will be varying as per the scheme. for Example for General Duty (GD) Soldiers, educational qualification will be 10th.

Salary and Benefits
Customized salary package will be
30000 for first-year(in hand salary 21000 )
33000 for 2nd year (in hand salary 23100)
36500 for 3rd year (in hand salary 25580)
40000 for 2nd year (in hand salary 28100)

11.7 lakh SevaNidhi Package at the time of retirement
The applicable allowance will be added to the customized package. (applicable Risk & Hardship, Ration, Dress, and Travel allowances as decided by the GOI)
•The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax.
•There shall be no entitlement to gratuity and pensionary benefits.
•non-contributory Life Insurance Cover of Rs 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period.
•Disability compensation: 100%- 44 lakh, 75%- 25 lakh, 50%- 15 lakh.
•Class 12th equivalent certificate (from NIOS) and Bridge Course(of choice) for further studies.
•Certificate for skills learned during the service.
•Skill Recognition by UGC.
•10% reservation of jobs for Agniveers in Indian Coast Guard, Defence Civilian posts & 16 DPSUs ( Approved by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh)
•10% reservation of jobs for Agniveer in CAPF and Assam Rifles.( Approved by Home Minister Amit Shah)
•Bank loan priority.

Terms And Conditions for 25% of Agniveers to be inducted in regular Cader.

Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces.

These applications will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four-year engagement period.

up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Armed Forces.

Agniveers so enrolled as regular cadre would be required to serve for a further engagement period of 15 years
