Ford’s F-150s are tough trucks, and the same 4WD platform is also used for Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators. But as these trucks experience age, wear, and tear, the vacuum-controlled wheel end actuators (or “integrated wheel ends” in Ford’s documentation) can become only partially engaged, leading to grinding, ruined drive shaft splines, and expensive repairs.
Dorman has developed a few OE FIX solutions for these issues, including a replacement wheel end kit (600-105), a wheel end kit with IWE solenoid (600-305), and a complete kit to eliminate the IWEs to avoid the issue entirely (600-405). These options are ideal for repairs or preemptive replacement to help ensure reliable service from specified Fords and Lincolns.
