Three senators were arrested in a day of drama that ended with an uneasy truce at the senate. Senators Christopher Lang'at, Cleophas Malala, and Stephen Lelegwe were all forced to record statements in police stations in Bomet, Maralal and Mumias on various charges that their colleagues said were trumped up to keep the senators from a critical vote on the revenue allocation formula.
Stephen Letoo reports on the dramatic scenes that carried over from a tense night for two of the senators.
