2024 CrossFit Games OPEN 24.3 – Had a plan to FINISH! Did it work?

24.3 is here, and it is a quick little FRAN+, then a rough heavy thruster bar muscle up couplet – OUCH!!
My plan was to stay in complete control and as comfrotable as possible on PART 1 (10 thrusters/10 chest to bar pullups (done 4/3/3)). THEN, sets of 7 on the heavy thrusters and split the BMU's 2/3/2 about every 20 seconds. Goal was to stay about 1:30/round on Part 2, so I could finish the workout.
AGAIN – ends up my brain believed I was fitter than my body!
To reiterate one more time – my goal is to earn a qualifying spot to the 2024 Masters CrossFit Games in Birmingham, AL on Labor Day Weekend. The path is:
OPEN – finish in the top 25% of the M45-49 field
QUARTERFINAL – finish in the top 200 of the M45-49 field
SEMIFINAL – finish in the top 40 of the M45-49 field
GAMES – fingers crossed, ENJOY the expereince!
CrossFit Games OPEN test 24.3 is done on a 15 minute running clock:
PART ONE is 5 rounds of:
10 Thrusters (95/65)
10 Chest to bar pullups
REST/Transition 1 minute
PART TWO is 5 rounds of:
7 Thrusters (135/95)
7 Bar muscle ups
I was NOT able to finish. I completed 163 of the 170 prescribed repetions, or 9 rounds + the 7 thrusters. 7 more bar muscles and I would have finished. But I think I would have need at least another full minute!
