I had a lovely drive down the Mull of Kintyre to Campbeltown on Saturday, 11 November 2023, leaving from Lochranza on the Isle of Arran.
This was my first time on board the MV Loch Fyne. The MV Caledonian Isles broke down (again) so Calmac brought the MV Loch Fyne down to run a shuttle service from Lochranza to Claonaig. This was great for me, as it meant a 1-hour drive to Campbeltown, rather than a 3-hour drive from Ardrossan!
I stopped at Westport Beach in Machrihanish and was immediately reminded of Cornwall. Okay, the coastline might not be quite so rugged in Kintyre, but the beach was incredible and it was nice to see a couple of surfers out on the waves.
