Australia To Deploy Surveillance Aircraft To West Asia | To Aid UAE With Missiles | Iran Tensions

Описание: Australia will deploy a military surveillance aircraft to West Asia and provide missiles to the United Arab Emirates as tensions with Iran escalate.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Australia will send a Boeing E-7A Wedgetail for an initial four-week deployment to help monitor and protect airspace above Gulf countries. He stressed that Australia is “not a protagonist” in the conflict but is helping regional partners defend themselves from attacks.

Albanese also said advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles would be supplied to the UAE following a call with Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Around 115,000 Australians were in West Asia when the conflict began, and about 2,600 have since returned home as several Gulf cities faced Iranian bombardment.
