He's a Republican. He voted with Trump most of the time. He has an MIT degree and eight terms in Congress. And he just publicly said he has no confidence in Pam Bondi.
On February 11th, Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky — the Republican who co-authored the Epstein Files Transparency Act — stood in front of Attorney General Pam Bondi at a House Judiciary Committee hearing and accused her, with documented evidence in hand, of protecting the identities of men who may have committed crimes against children while exposing the names of their victims. Bondi's response was to call him a "failed politician" with "Trump derangement syndrome" — off a pre-written flash card her staff had prepared before he asked a single question. Then a Reuters photographer captured something Bondi probably didn't intend anyone to see: a document in her binder titled "Jayapal Pramila Search History," revealing that the DOJ had tracked exactly which Epstein files each lawmaker had reviewed during their supervised visits to the DOJ building — and brought that surveillance data to the hearing as opposition research. The response was bipartisan and swift. House Speaker Mike Johnson called it inappropriate. Republican Rep. Nancy Mace confirmed the tracking was real and called it "creepy." A formal investigation was launched. And Massie went on ABC News four days later and said plainly: he does not have confidence in the Attorney General of the United States.
