**************************************
Celiac a. at superior border of pancreas, gives the first branch
1. Left gastric a. and then it bifurcates into
2. Splenic a. (largest branch) and
3. Common hepatic a.
In 89-91% has this normal anatomy (hepatogastrosplenic trunk with separate SMA origin from aorta).
The most common anatomic variation is hepato-splenic trunk with separate origin of left gastric artery and SMA).
Arch of Buhler: It's a persistent vertical ventral embryologic anastomosis between celiac axis and superior mesenteric a. 3% of population have this arch.
Ambiguous Celiac anatomy: when Common hepatic a. is absent or Arch of Buhler is present.
Splenic a. branches - dorsal pancreatic a., short gastric a., left gastroepiploic a., greater pancreatic a.
Common hepatic a. branches - proper hepatic a., right gastric a., gastroduodenal a.
Now, Let's see some #CT anatomy of celiac trunk and its branches.
