@AleenaKanner has been sharing her experiences on her Vision Journey: There is a remarkable change in her fluency when reading with the trial lenses we prescribed. Her head tilt is a longstanding compensatory posture that helps her hold binocular alignment. However, it introduces a vestibular system mismatch in her sense of orientation to the environment when she tilts her head. This also impedes her eye-tracking skills for reading, because the eyes are no longer parallel to the direction of text. Her peripheral visual field gets compressed in part due to the nature of her misalignment (cyclophoria), causing her to DECODE word-by-word, rather than grabbing phrases and meaning while truly READING fluently.
The lenses she provides enable her to align the eyes with reduced strain and without the need to tilt her head. She was blown away with how instantly the lenses have a positive impact on her visual performance.
