The autograph score of Zelenka's first In exitu Israel setting, composed circa 1725, with a wild and chromatic Amen fugue finale. Written on the text of Psalm 113, In exitu Israel de Aegypto stresses the concertante elements by introducing the whole quartet of soloists. Formally it consists of five part, the first and the third of which are identical, both of them using the motives from the orchestral introduction for accompaniment. The choir is mostly homophonous. From bar 84 onwards Zelenka utilizes the character of the text and develops the composition of the form of a respond which is used also in the following "Gloria Patri" of folklore color forms the the fourth separate part, it's charming melody being interwoven with suspensions and chromatics.
A place apart in the whole contemporary music is certainly occupied by the theme of the final choir of "Amen", whose consistent chromatization approaches some equally bold themes of Johann Sebastian Bach. It is written in the form of a double fugue. The chromatics of the theme, however, makes the composition tonally unstable to the very end.
