In today's lesson we learn about the Great Commission. Although the scripture reference in our story today is short, this message is a powerful one! Even after His death and resurrection, Jesus continued to teach His followers.
As Jesus stood on a mountain in Galilee about to ascend into Heaven, He gave His disciples a special mission to do until the time that they all meet Him again. His message for His disciples (and for us too) was to "Go and Make Disciples", "Baptize Them", and "Teach Them All that I have commanded you". And, last and most importantly, "remember that I am with you always."
Here at the Orchard, we always say "we are a family of missionary servants, sent to make disciples of Jesus Christ." Or, as of late, "Be Family, Live With Purpose, Make Disciples". Our mission is clear, Jesus has commissioned us and given us this special job to "Go and Make Disciples" and that is exactly what, we at the Orchard, want to do, no matter their age! And, oh how comforting it is to know that He has given us His spirit as we go!
