Roberto Magalhães, commonly known by jiu-jitsu practitioners and fans as “Roleta”, is regarded as one of the All-Time Greatest BJJ competitors of the sport and one of the greatest innovators of the modern grappling game, particularly through his inverted guard, a position that revolutionized the sport in the 1990s. A 4x World Champion, Roleta earned his black belt training under Carlinhos Gracie in the Gracie Barra academy of Rio de Janeiro, later opening his own academy, Roleta BJJ.

Master Dalla has dedicated his life to teaching martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2002, at the request of his well-known Black Belt student Lloyd Irvin, Master Dalla moved from Brazil and began teaching in the greater Washington, D.C. area. He teaches personally at his schools in Ballston and Woodbridge, VA every night and also instructs on a periodic basis at schools throughout Northern Virginia that are part of the BIG BROTHERS network run by a number of Master Dalla's black belts.

Dalla has been a very active competitor, nationally and internationally, and continues to medal in some of the biggest tournaments the sport has to offer. He routinely lays it on the line competing in local, national and international events as one of the main leaders of the BIG BROTHERS Competition Team (with associated teams in the USA and Brazil).
