Polish MEP asks Mario Draghi about Helicopter Money

Описание: On 1st February 2016, the European Parliament debated its Annual Report on the activities of the European Central bank.

Polish MEP Dariusz Rosati (EPP / Conservatives) took this opportunity to ask Mario Draghi's opinion about the possibility for helicopter money and its potential consequences for the economy. The session was not Q&A so Draghi could afford not to answer.

'Helicopter money' usually describes the possibility for central banks to create new money and distributing it directly to all citizens without more debt. It is also often called 'QE for People'.

Dariusz Rosati said on his facebook page: “I see strong arguments in favor [of helicopter money], but before final decision is taken I would like to see a serious analysis of this potential measure.”
