E-White Tofu case with Merro60 PCB "Tofukorn" build.
Usually, the Tofu series of cases from KBDFANS are standard tray-mount cases. Although Reddit user u/darth_domo created a pcb capable of bypassing the keyboards standoffs and moving to a gummy o-ring friction fit mounting system similar to the TGR x Singa Unikorn and Cannonkeys Bakeneko series of keyboards.
In the past, you'd have to dremel off the standoffs from the Tofu cases to be able to mount the pcb with a gummy o-ring. The Merro60 pcb allows you to leave these standoffs in place, while still having appropriately sized holes to not come in contact with the pcb. The o-ring used in this build is a 35A durometer (hardness or density) o-ring.
Another issue with the Tofu cases is they tend to sound very hollow even with the gummy o-ring conversion. To help combat this, I have added a custom cut piece of .125" thick copper to the battery cutout mounted with some soft double sided adhesive. I forgot to weigh the piece before mounting it in the case, but if I had to guess, the piece adds ~350 grams to the overall heft of the board.
Case: E-White Tofu60 - With custom cut piece of copper inserted
Switches: Alpacas - Lubed with 205g0 and filmed with .015mm films spring swapped with 65g springs bag lubed with GPL105
PCB: Merro60
Plate: Black FR4 - From CarolinaMech
Stabilizers: Genuine Cherry Clip-Ins
Keycaps: Botanical colorway PBT
I do think that this board would sound better with GMK. The PBT caps used in this sound test are a little on the thinner side...
Sorry for the shaky camera mount.
