A Simple Trick for Perfect Miters | Old-School Woodworking Tip
Good morning, everyone! In this video, I’m sharing a timeless tip I picked up back in the 1980s while working at The Woodworker in Wayne, New Jersey. Some call it a “bump cut” — but no matter the name, it works great.
By slightly bumping your molding into the saw blade while it’s in the down position, then lifting it to make a subtle trim, you can fine-tune your cuts for incredibly tight miters. It’s a quick, effective technique I’ve used for decades — and it still holds up.
