How Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Venture Capital: Building an AI Analyst

Описание: Artificial intelligence is compressing the marginal cost of intelligence toward zero. Due to the nature of our work, we have early access to science in stealth mode and to upcoming AI models not yet visible to society—systems that will soon do extraordinarily bold things. The trajectory is clear: the next five years will be defined by two forces, science and agents. And from 2026 onward, the only accurate word to describe what is coming is ‘shocking.’ This paper examines how that shift is restructuring venture capital (VC) and the operating playbooks of our funds and our portfolio companies. It argues that agentic systems—AI agents that exhibit goal‑directed behavior—will first enter VC workflows as “analysts”: triaging deal flow, drafting diligence, mapping competitors, scoring risk, and producing memos in minutes. As their tool use expands, these agents will not only analyze but act: interacting with founders, conducting due diligences on their own, observing in boards and suggesting courses of action, and slowly occupying our traditional roles. The thesis needs to be pragmatic: as intelligence becomes abundant, advantage shifts to those who (i) wire agents into end‑to‑end workflows, (ii) secure data/compute moats, and (iii) monetize better investments through scalable, fast evolving use of AI.
